Bill Murray and Perceptions

Bill Murray once said: The more relaxed you are, the better you are at everything. The better you are with your loved ones, the better you are with your job, the better you are with yourself.

The Bhagavad Gita says: We never really encounter the world; all we really experience is our own nervous system.

A thought/possibility:

Perception is everything. For the colourblind, the colour palatte is less dynamic and makes ability to blend colours more challenging. For others, their emotional palette is less dynamic which makes feelings more complicated.

Buddha says: We don’t respond to what happens. We respond to our perspective of what happens.

Is it possible that sometimes perceptions are incorrect based on my story (and the stories I choose to tell myself). Is it possible to widen the scope of my lens to make sure I am graced with seeing a fuller palatte?
